Pride Over Riches (P.O.R.) is a hip-hop collective grounded in authenticity, lyrical precision,
and boom bap tradition.
Representing Delaware, Philadelphia, Chester (PA), and North Jersey, the group consists of
MC/producers Ziki-P and D-Scribe,
along with turntablist DJ Tactics. Together, they form a powerhouse of sound and
storytelling that bridges regional grit
with universal messages.
Emerging in the early 2000s, P.O.R. first made their mark with mixtapes like Sounds for Sore
Ears Vol. 1 & 2, followed by
full-length albums Loose Change (2006) and Bumz Luck (2012). Known for dense lyricism,
soulful samples, and true-school
sensibilities, the group took a hiatus before returning stronger than ever with 2025’s
Products of Resurrection — a statement
piece for the new era.
The album features contributions from frequent collaborators including Marchitect, One
Man Gang, DJ Trubb, and DJ Tactics,
with standouts like “Next 2 Blow”, “The Rage Is Back”, and “Return of the Verses.” Ziki-P
handles the bulk of the production,
blending warm, dusty textures with a forward-thinking edge. D-Scribe’s verses are sharp,
reflective, and rooted in lived
experience, while DJ Tactics supplies the signature cuts and live energy that bring it all
together.
